About Leah

Leah is a warm and engaging psychologist who works with young people and adults and believes it is integral to form a trusting and authentic connection with her clients, so she can truly understand their world and implement meaningful change.

With over 15 years industry experience, Leah assists clients to set goals specific to their needs and tailors psychological interventions based on their existing skill set of strategies. Leah recognises and values that no two people are the same and believes we need to lovingly embrace our individual qualities.  Leah is committed to embracing diversity and welcomes all people irrespective of ethnicity, lifestyle choice, faith, sexual orientation or gender identity.

Leah believes in a collaborative and strength-based approach to therapy, that is trauma informed, recognising the client as the expert of their own life. She understands that we all see the world from our own filter and we all carry emotional wounds that others can’t see, based on our own lived experience. She aims to help others to increase their psychological resilience and thrive in their life. 

Leah loves to support young people (12 years and above) and adults to be their true self and live a rich, full and meaningful life driven by their values. Leah is proudly an ally to the LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse community, including victim / survivors of trauma. Leah utilises many different approaches to counselling such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), impulse control and behavioural change, communication skills building, mindfulness / grounding and interpersonal approaches as some examples.

Leah has completed a Bachelor of Social Science, Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology and Master of Counselling Psychology. She has extensive experience working within her own private practice as well as various roles in a wide range of mental health service providers such as a Psychologist at Headspace, Wellbeing Professional for the Reach Foundation, Centre Supervisor and Counsellor at On The Line (including Suicide Line, Veteran’s Line and Mensline Australia) and a School Psychologist.
